Sewing

Remember to press each seam after sewing.

1. This quilt is made using just one pattern block but you need to be careful with placement to achieve the correct colour sequence. There are ten blocks for each of the nine colour combinations.

2. Lay out the pieces for the top left hand corner block and sew the rectangles together in pairs, to make squares.

3. Place these squares as shown in the diagram and stitch together to complete the block. Make another nine in the same colour sequence.

4. Repeat this method for each of the remaining eight colour combinations.

5. This will give ninety blocks in total, using the picture as a guide for placement lay the blocks out in ten rows of nine.

6. Sew the blocks into rows pressing the seams in opposite directions for each row.

7. Sew the rows together to complete the quilt top.

8. Add the border; sides first and then the top and bottom.

9. Layer the quilt top, wadding and backing fabric and pin or tack in place.

10. Quilt by hand or machine.

11. Add the binding from the fabric strips that you have left over. main diagram
